One Nation, One Ration Card

This week’s #Arthanomics is about the ‘One Nation, One Ration card’ to help those poor countrymen who migrate to other places in search of employment or for other needs. COVID-19 pandemic has badly impacted #migrantworkers. They lost their jobs but the sign of coming back are again visible. Earlier #rationcard can be used only in their native place. But in search of #jobs many have migrated to various cities, where previous ration cards cannot be availed. The system will enable migrant workers and their family members to avail #foodgrains under NFS Act, 2013 from any #fairpriceshop in the country. As of June 1, 2020, a total of 20 Indian States & Union Territories are now under the #OneNationOneRationCard scheme.
