The growth in the domestic broking industry is moderating, following a robust performance during the 2021-22 financial year (FY22). The change comes on the back of a drop in trading volumes amid heightened market uncertainty. ICRA, however, believes that the outlook for the brokerage industry is stable, though its revenue trajectory and profitability are expected to moderate from the FY22 levels.
The revenue growth rate is expected to taper to 5-7 per cent in FY23 with an expected industry total turnover of Rs 28,500-29,000 crore even though it has a stable outlook for the industry.
